Our Story
Four years ago, we stepped into India’s coffee industry with no coffee backgrounds or industry connections, just a simple observation.
India is one of the world’s largest coffee producers, yet freshly roasted, quality coffee still feels inaccessible to most people. Specialty coffee often felt expensive, intimidating, and reserved for a small circle of enthusiasts.
Elsewhere in the world, great coffee became a part of everyday life. Students drank it before class. Families brewed it at home. Travelers found it on the road.
We started Saraca because we believe India deserves that too.
Not coffee as a luxury.
Coffee as a daily ritual.
Coffee that brings happiness into ordinary moments.
Our Roasting Process
Before the Roast
Scored for Quality: We only purchase green coffee evaluated by CQI-certified Q Graders. Only lots scoring 80+ points (specialty grade) make the cut.
Hand-Inspected: Every batch is physically sorted before roasting to remove defects, ensuring a clean, pure flavor profile.
100% Traceable: We partner directly with named, registered estates across Indian coffee capitals like Coorg, Chikmagalur, and Koraput, never anonymous bulk suppliers.
During the Roast
Data-Driven Craft: Every batch follows a precise roast profile, tracking temperature and development time to bring out natural sweetness without bitter or flat notes.
Small-Batch Freshness: Roasted in small quantities at our Mysore roastery so your coffee never sits past its peak.
Real-World Refined: We adjust our roast profiles using feedback from everyday home brewers and baristas, ensuring our coffee tastes incredible in your cup, not just in a lab.
After the Roast
Rigorously Cupped: Every batch is sensory-tested within 24–48 hours across key attributes like aroma, sweetness, body, and balance.
Packaged with Purpose:
Once approved, our coffee is sealed in specialized valve bags to lock in aromatics, keep oxygen out, and preserve peak flavor from our roastery to your cup.
Zero Compromises: If a batch doesn’t meet our quality threshold, it doesn't leave the roastery. Period.
